The Foundation advocates to protect the natural heritage of the region; provides information and education; partners to provide important recreation facilities and amenities; and provides stewardship assistance through volunteer programs.

The Foundation is strategically aligned with the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department’s Strategic Plan for future development and improvements in the Maricopa Trail and County Parks system.

A number of committed Friends Groups provide support for the Parks and the Maricopa Trail, working in partnership with the Foundation and the Maricopa County Parks & Recreation Department.
